 How to stick to your new year’s resolutions. It is that time of the year again when you make new resolutions that you vow to stick to and have results before the end of the year.

You might have the desire, the motivation, and the will at the beginning to make those changes. Still, down the line, you might find yourself struggling to implement those resolutions leading to either not performing correctly what you have to do, or you stop altogether from implementing the new changes within a few weeks or months into the year.

Different reasons can cause this inability or disinterest. Whatever the causes, here are five tips that could help you to stick to your new year’s resolutions.

1 # HAVE THE RIGHT MINDSET  

It is critical to have the right mindset. Know what you want and be motivated. Having the right mindset will set you to accomplish what you are yearning for. Improving your mindset, and shifting it positively, will definitively improve your life.  

2 # TAKE IT EASY, ONE STEP AT THE TIME  

It is quite challenging to replace unhealthy habits and behaviours. The First thing to do is to have attainable goals as Perfection is unattainable. So, work on one habit at a time to guarantee success at a comfortable pace.

3 # SHARE YOUR RESOLUTION, YOUR GOALS  

Do not keep your resolutions a secret. You can talk about it to friends and family members for support. Joining a support group would be a good idea. Doing so can make you accountable for, therefore motivate you to achieve your goals. Make yourself accountable through a written or verbal promise.  

4 # PLAN, PLAN, PLAN  

You should plan well ahead the way you want to implement your resolutions. As they say, failing to plan is planning to fail. You need to know your strengths, your weaknesses, your triggers, what makes you go off the rails, and understand what can keep you strongly motivated. Then plan to take into account all this.   

5– MONITOR YOUR PROGRESS AND BE KIND TO YOURSELF                                           

It would be a good idea to keep track of your progress and success, any small step towards your goals. Do not dwell in the past but learn from it and your mistakes.

Think about what did and did not work for you, and repeat what works best. Be appreciative of the small successes as they will lead to the big ones.
